Machakos Governor Mutua hits out at Kalonzo

Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua on Saturday returned from an overseas trip to a renewed turf war with Cord co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka.

Without mincing his words, Dr Mutua on Saturday told Mr Kalonzo to stop using people to intimidate him while he is out of the country.

Dr Mutua said his trip is bound to bring goodies for Machakos people saying he is focused on development and the empowerment of the ordinary people.

DEVELOPMENT SCORECARD

“Last week, Hon Kalonzo Musyoka questioned why I was overseas and made disparaging comments about my absence. Unlike many people who travel overseas, I was busy working for my people, looking for opportunities, jobs and investors for Machakos and our region, so as to roll back poverty,” Dr Mutua said.

“Leaders need to be accountable to voters and should only be supported based on what they have done for their people and not just mere patronage and sloganeering that only helps to maintain poverty,” he added.

He went ahead to request Mr Musyoka to publicly declare his development scorecard for the region.

The governor accused Mr Musyoka and Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama of using other leaders to divide his government.
