Sonko: Kidero is to blame for my low ranking

Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko has blamed Governor Evans Kidero for his ranking as the worst performing senator.

Sonko has also accused Mzalendo Trust, the body which conducted the survey, of attacking him by organizing a shoddy poll to dent his image.

“I want to tell you political cowards who are trying to dent me (sic) starting with the City Hall one; if the red sea could not stop Moses and the Israelites from moving on; nothing will be able to stop me from taking the big county job,” Sonko said.

The Senator sought to put the records straight concerning his contribution in Senate, including filing three motions and addressing other pertinent matters of national importance.

MOST ACTIVE MPs

In the report that was released on Thursday, Sonko was named alongside 26 MPs as those with significantly less contributions on the floor of the House.

The same report named Senators Boni Khalwale, Mutula Kilonzo Junior, Wilfred Machage, Fatumo Dullo and Beatrice Elachi as those that contributed the most.

Kiminini MP Chris Wamalwa and Taveta’s Naomi Shaban were ranked as the most active contributors in Parliament while Nairobi County MPs topped list of silent legislators.

Sonko and Kidero have a long-drawn love-hate relationship, dating back to when they were elected to serve Nairobi residents in their respective capacities during the 2013 General Elections.
