Sonko to support slain bodyguard’s family

Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko has pledged to take care of the family of his slain bodyguard Bakari Tsuma.

“I decided to give him a good send off and show him my last respect by catering for all the funeral costs including clearing all the bills at Nairobi Hospital (where he was at the ICU) amounting to Sh1.3 million,”Sonko wrote on Facebook

“I (also) paid school fees upto class 8 and form 4 for all his dependents he left behind i.e his form 3 sister Mwajuma Joto, his daughter Fatuma Joto, and his son at Kasaranbi Academy,” his message further read.

The senator also undertook to surrender a family title deed of a half acre plot he bought for each of his staff at Mlolongo in Syokimau once the subdivision process is completed.

At the same time, Sonko called for speedy investigations to the incident. The late Tsuma, who was shot dead last Saturday by unknown people, leaves behind two widows and three children. He was buried on Tuesday in Kwale County.
