4 Sonko staff rearrested moments after posting bail at Milimani

Four staff of Nairobi governor Mike Sonko were on Wednesday afternoon re-arrested moments after the governor paid a cash bail they were granted after facing charges of resisting arrest and causing chaos.

The four are Richard Bosire, John Abok, Joseph Mwangi Kirai and Kennedy Odiambo.

The four had spent the Tuesday night in custody following fracas outside the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) headquarters where the Governor had gone for questioning.

Police arrested a number of individuals including some from the governor’s communication team, during the ensuing mayhem mainly caused by Sonko’s supporters outside the EACC.

After Mr Bosire and his colleagues had posted a cash bail of Sh100,000 each, police pounced on them again.

According to the charge sheet seen by Nairobi News, the four were charged for resisting arrest from police officers on November 5.

They were rearrested to face fresh charges of allegedly assaulting police officers.

Central police station OCPD Stanley Atavachi, however claimed to have no knowledge of the re-arrest of Mr Bosire and his colleague’s.
