Miguna Miguna’s choice of a running mate is a 24 year-old former student leader who has been described as a no nonsense and charismatic person by his former teachers.
1. Mr James Karihe Gathungu holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Statistics from Laikipia University and has worked as a researcher at Nasikem Consultant Company.
2. The 24 year-old youth leader was born at Gaichanjiru village, Kandara constituency in Murang’a County.He went to Gathaiti Primary school and later joined Gaichanjiru secondary school in 2007 before joining Laikipia University.
3. He served briefly as a mathematics tutor at Mutheru secondary school in Murang’a.
4. He served as Laikipia University students leader between 2014-2015.
5. Mr Gathungu has been a campaigner for empowerment of youth and advocating for their inclusion in matters of governance.
