Tuyisenge, Walusimbi turn down moves to FK Tirana

Gor Mahia duo Jacques Tuyisenge and Geoffrey Walusimbi have turned down potential moves to Europe.

The two were subjects of interest from Albanian club FK Tirana.

Former K’Ogalo coach Jose Marcelo Ferreira aka Ze Maria, who now is in charge of Tirana, was said to be the one pushing his employers to rope in Tuyisenge and Walumsbi.

“Initially there was a possibility of them leaving but they are now quiet. I believe it is now safe to confirm they won’t be leaving,” Gor Mahia secretary general Ronald Ngala explained.

PROMOTION

Having already suffered elimination from the Europa League tournament, Ze Maria was probably hopeful the two players will help him attain instant promotion back to the Albanian top flight league.

Tuyisenge is a Rwandan international forward who possesses an impressive scoring rate both at Gor Mahia and with the Rwanda national team.

He scored the lone goal when K’Ogalo lost 2-1 to Everton in a friendly match in July.

Walusimbi too is an experienced Uganda international who prominently featured for the Cranes at the 2017 Africa Nations Cup in Gabon.

BOOST

The development is a boost to new K’Ogalo coach Dylan Kerr, as both Walusimbi and Tuyisenge are now expected to feature prominently in the club’s push to reclaim the league title from Tusker this season.

K’Ogalo currently enjoy a four point lead over second placed Posta Rangers on the SportPesa Premier League table standings after 20 rounds of matches.
