Rudisha, Kemboi, Chemos land plum positions in athletics

Olympic 800m champion David Rudisha, world 3,000m steeplechase champion Ezekiel Kemboi and former world 3,000m steeplechase champion, Milcah Chemos, have handed prominent administrative roles in the world of athletics.

Rudisha, who is also the 800m world champion and record holder, has been appointed as President of the Confederation of Athletics Association Commission (CAA). He replaces retired Namibian sprinter Frankie Fredricks.

Former Olympics champion Kemboi has been appointed to the IAAF athletics commission while Chemos joins the Athletics Kenya executive as the athletes representative.

Kemboi will link up with Athletics Kenya Vice President Jinaro Kibet, who has been appointed into an IAAF committee looking into cases and legislation in the change of allegiance by athletes.

Chemos, on her part, will replace former 1,500m Olympic champion Noah Ngeny.

The appointments are a justification of Kenya’s influence in the world of international athletics.
