Top drivers troop to Nakuru for KCB Autocross championship


The fourth round of KCB national Autocross championship which revs off on Sunday morning at Gicheha farm in Nakuru has attracted top motorsport drivers.

Azar Anwar is expected to renew his rivalry with Rehan Shah who will be powering Subaru 4WD, McRae Kimathi, Murage Waigwa and Asad Anwar in senior 4WD non-turbo.

The 2WD non-turbo junior has Ryan Bailey while the mother Gilian Bailey will be powering a Baracuda in the 2WD non-turbo. Yuvraj Rajput will be in the bambino driving a Polaris as well as Tsevi Soni.

TOP HONOURS

The 2WD turbo has Karen Sehmi driving an attacker while Kunal Bimal will be driving a buggy in the same class. Shalien Mughal, Nikhil Kapoor, Deep Patel with a buggy, Shazim Ismail amd Lovejyot Singh will be battling for top honours in the same category.

“I’m going to enjoy driving in the mud in my second race and am hoping to do well,” said 30 year old Patel.

The program will kick off with a parade lap followed by 4 heats ahead of the prize giving ceremony later in the day.

KCB Group Marketing and Communications Director Angela Mwirigi says the bank will continue to invest in Autocross envisaging to grow the sports discipline across the country.

“As KCB we are excited for this round of the KCB Autocross. I wish the competitors a great outing tomorrow,” said Angela.
