There exists considerable excitement among football fans on social media, as the 2017/2018 English Premier League season kicks off on Friday (August 11th) after an 83-day break.

Arsenal will face Leicester in the first of the 380 league matches this season over the next 10 months.

The league’s defending champions Chelsea, alongside Manchester United, Liverpool Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur command the most followers in Kenya.

All these clubs are expected to be among the top contenders for the title this season.

Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama features prominently for Tottenham, whilst another player of Kenyan descent, Belgium’s Divock Origi is attached to Liverpool.

Other star players to watch out for in the competition this season include Manchester United’s new Sh10 billion signing Romelu Lukaku, Arsenal new signing Alexandre Lacazzette, Liverpool’s Brazilian playmaker Coutinho and Chelsea’s new Spanish forward Avaro Morata.
