Selfies have become a part of everyday life for most people, and it seems even President Uhuru Kenyatta finds it hard to resist that occasional selfie.

A picture of the head of state taking a selfie with two United Nation officials during the UN Environment Assembly that took place at UN headquarters in Gigiri on Tuesday, has left Kenyan’s online impressed.

The selfie moment captures an all smiles President Kenyatta sandwiched between the two UN officials who are both holding on to an iPhone for that perfect selfie.

“Awesome UK. I hope aide de camp smiled!” commented William Kamau.

George Njuguna wrote, “They all want a pic with UK.”

“Mr President Smile,” said Hiram Kamau.

“Thelfie manenos. Hapo sawa Baba Ngina,” wrote Robert Mathenge.

@markmaundu, “Also ban people taking selphis with you when you are not ready hehe have good day.”

During the UN Environment Assembly, President Kenyatta was praised for banning the manufacture and use of plastic packaging both at industrial and domestic levels.

The president, on his part, called for commitment from all countries in the world to copy Kenya’s example of banning the use of plastic bags.

“My advice is that nations should not heed the skeptics, who say that all countries cannot protect our planet better by banning plastic carrier bags,” said the President.

He also announced that after the plastic ban, Kenya has embarked on organising a major regional anti-pollution forum.
