Twitter goes ham on Mutua over condolence message
Kenyans on Wednesday tore into Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua over his tweet that rubbed them the wrong way.
Governor Mutua had tweeted his condolence message mourning Kitui West MP Francis Nyenze who died at Nairobi Hospital on Wednesday.
In his condolence message, the governor wrote; “I am saddened by the passing of Hon. Nyenze – a good man, a friend and a voice of reason. He was a smart & diplomatic leader who cared about his people. He told me he was fed up with sycophancy perpetuated in our region and supported my politics of development. I will miss him.”

The late MP succumbed to colon cancer on Wednesday, after resiliently fighting the disease for close to a decade.
The late Nyenze touched off a political firestorm in Ukambani when he and former Kitui Senator David Musila endorsed the re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta.
On Twitter Kenyans condemned the governor for what he wrote. Here are some of the reactions.
Your second last sentence kills the mood of mourning

Do you ever re-read your tweets before posting? Just to to listen to yourself?

I also support your development agenda but since we are mourning it’s not wise to provoke some of your constituents who are also mourning

Very peculiar condolence message. You watered it down with your unending desire for glory. Funny it comes from à communication expert of high standing as you !

It doesn’t matter what he was fed-up with and whether or not he shared with you the whole thing. Just say RIP and the message will be clear. All these that you are saying will not add anything

Mutua… Stop this. Don’t bring this to Nyenze. You’re just fod of playing cheap PR’s
