Sonko rushes to the aid of Nakuru woman battling rare condition
Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko on Saturday dispatched an ambulance to collect a woman who has been battling cerebral hypoxia.
Grace Muthoni from Njoro, Nakuru county, has been rendered blind deaf and with no memory by the disease. She only feeds through tubes and is always on adult diapers.
Her plight was highlighted in a story carried by QTV in which her husband, John Mburu Njoroge, narrated how he got sacked because of caring for her wife round the clock. He asked for help from the public to take his wife to hospital for further treatment.
Senator Sonko on Friday posted the video on Facebook and asked to be put in touch with the family so that he can help them.
“This is a very touching story. Wale wamezoea kuwacha bibi zao coz of maradhi or shida should watch this video. I appeal to well-wishers lets assist this family. Anybody with information of where they reside kindly give details or phone contact. Have a good day,” Sonko wrote.
On Saturday Sonko he dispatched his rescue team to Njoro, Nakuru where the couple lives. The team took Ms Muthoni to Kijabe Mission Hospital where she will undergo tests.
“As promised yesterday thro my FB page and Kameme FM, today I dispatched my ambulance team to Njoro, Nakuru county to rescue patient Grace Muthoni wife to James Mburu who lost his Job a couple of months ago coz of taking care of his ailing dear wife. From Njoro we took Grace to Kijabe mission hospital where she’s currently undergoing several tests as we wait to know the next move.

Apart from Sonko, Mayor Councillor Elizabeth Kangethe of London also called John and told him that she had people on the ground who will be offering a hand to this family.
Anthony Micheni of Helping Hands Kenya pledged to send caregivers and nurses (if needed) to the couple’s house after Grace’s discharge from hospital.
According to John the Paybill 922565 has so far raised over 750,000 and well-wishers were still calling and pledging financial support.
“This is how God works. This is why I love Kenyans. From the bottom of my heart, God bless you, God favour you in all you do. Continue praying with me and wishing Grace the very best in her treatment,” John said.
