Prophet Owuor’s diehards clean up Nakuru streets ahead of prayer meeting


Hundreds of followers of ‘Prophet Dr.’ David Owuor brought Nakuru’s Central Business District to a standstill Thursday as they cleaned up the main streets ahead of a mega three-day prayer rally.

Hundreds of people have already arrived in the town ahead of the revival meeting that will take place at the Nakuru’s Menengai grounds.

Singing gospel tunes, Owuor’s followers converged at the Nakuru’s Nyayo Gardens before proceeding to Gate House where they started the clean-up exercise along Kenyatta Avenue.

HOTELS FULLY BOOKED

According to Archbishop Paul Onjoro of the Repentance and Holiness Ministry, the organisers of the event have secured 110 acres of Technology Farm -estimated to host at least four people per square metre.

Owuor will be staying at the Merica hotel. His ministry has also fully booked six other hotels in the town to accommodate 420 guests invited from around the world, according to Onjoro, the lead organizer and convener of the event.

He said Nakuru Governor Mr Kinuthia Mbugua had invited Owuor to Nakuru County.

“I have put all arrangements in place, all security is arranged and planned beginning with today’s town cleaning up exercise,” he said.

Owuor is expected to arrive at Merica hotel at 4pm Friday as more of his followers start to gather at the Menengai grounds in readiness for the prayer meeting which starts tomorrow at 10am.

TELEVISED LIVE

The main event to be televised live on NTV where a “major healing service” is promised to followers on Saturday and Sunday.

On Monday, an international conference bringing together pastors and gospel ministers from around the world will take place.

“For the next four days, Nakuru will be busily visited,” said Onjoro.

Nakuru West Deputy county commissioner Mr Elmi Shaffi assured those attending the meeting of security.
