Millicent Omanga embarrassed outside Jubilee headquarters
Jubilee Party’s Woman Representative aspirant in Nairobi, Millicent Omanga, was on Friday locked out of the party headquarters after losing the contest to incumbent Rachel Shebesh.
Ms Omanga, who came second in the nominations, had been accompanied by her supporters to the headquarters where she came to file a complaint.
But a rude shock awaited her as she was reduced to arguing at the gate with the security personnel who barred her from accessing the building.
Ms Omanga, who is a close associate of Deputy President William Ruto, has accused Ms Shebesh of electoral malpractice.
“Most of my votes were stolen. I have video evidence of my opponent stealing votes in Roysambu and Kasarani,” she said.
DIVERSIONARY TACTIC
She claims that the fracas caused by Ms Shebesh at the county tallying centre at Nyayo Stadium on Friday was a diversionary tactic.
“She went to Nyayo Stadium to play reverse psychology by protesting because she knew I had evidence of her stealing the votes,” claimed Ms Omanga.
The businesswoman said she would submit her video evidence to the tribunal and is confident that justice shall be served and the Nairobi primaries repeated.
“I have submitted my evidence and I have a lot of hope in the Jubilee Appeal Tribunal and I know justice shall be served,” she said.
Asked what she will do in case the tribunal fails to rule in her favour she said: “I haven’t thought of the event that the tribunal rules in my opponent’s favour because I have solid evidence that is indisputable and have full trust in the tribunal.”
