Nairobi County commander Japheth Koome said they have already established the identity of members of the group and the vehicle they intend to use to ferry the grenades.

Mr Koome made the  remarks in a media briefing on Sunday.

“We have intelligence that some people have planned to deliver grenades to Kibera. Details of the vehicle and people behind the scheme are with the police,” Mr Koome told journalists.

He also said police have intelligence on planed ethnic evictions in Kibera on Monday that will coincide with the protest by Opposition leaders and their supporters to call for reforms in the electoral commission.
