Here’s some good news for SGR users

Kenya Railway will today launch a second ‘Madaraka Express’ daily train service between Nairobi-Mombasa route.

An afternoon trip will be introduced on the service with the express trains leaving both Mombasa and Nairobi termini at 3:30pm.

Initially, the railway company only offered one train trip on the SGR route, with a train departing Mombasa and Nairobi termini at 8am.

The new service is expected to double the number of passengers on the route.

Transport and Infrastructure Cabinet Secretary James Macharia is expected to preside over the Launch of the second train service for the Madaraka Express at the Nairobi Terminus at 1:30pm.

The Madaraka Express passenger service has been in operation for five months following its commissioning by President Uhuru Kenyatta early this year.

The Madaraka Express launched earlier this year has seen excited travelers boarding the train due to its convenience hence increasing demand from Kenyans.
