Guinness celebrates year of launch with Sh20m in prizes for revellers

Guinness has launched a promotion to celebrate the year its first stout beer was manufactured.

The new promotion targets at rewarding loyal consumers countrywide with over Sh20 million to be won.

The “1759 USSD” promotion kicked off on February 7 and will run till the April 1, 2018.

The iconic Guinness time stamp of “1759” is the year when Guinness was first brewed and introduced in Dublin, Ireland.

The promotion will see revellers across 1,000 entertainment outlets rewarded with instant prizes.

Speaking during the launch, Kenya Breweries Limited Marketing Manager Guinness Ms Nduku Wamakau said that the Guinness brand is consistently evolving in tandem with consumer choices, tastes and preferences.

“As a brand, we are now taking the consumer experience a step further by engaging them through their most immediate touchpoints. We are therefore going to engage with our consumers through personalized information interactions via their mobile handsets,” said Ms Wamakau.

Instant prizes in the promotion will include talk time minutes, data bundles and cash prizes.
