Epic battle of the youth to be witnessed in Starehe
Starehe Constituency will on August 8 this year witness an epic battle of three popular youthful political new-comers.
The announcement by the Jubilee Party National Election Board nullifying Maina Kamanda’s win paved way for a new entrant Charles Njagua Kanyi aka Jaguar.
The musician will fly the Jubilee Party ticket battling it out with Orange Democratic Movement’s Steve Mbogo.
The two, who have won their respective party primaries, will face off with activist Boniface Mwangi who is running as an independent candidate.
Jaguar will be banking on his popularity in the music industry along with his closeness with President Uhuru Kenyatta and Jubilee Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant Mike Sonko with whom they campaigned together in the run up to the nominations.
Businessman Mbogo, a close ally of Mombasa governor Hassan Joho, won the ODM nominations with a huge margin with his main agenda being to offer solutions to unemployment of youths.
Activist Mwangi, who has always been vocal about corruption in the country, hopes to continue the fight within parliament offering a solution to Kenyans that indeed they can eliminate bad leadership.
The three candidates will battle for the over 120,000 votes in the constituency that covers Nairobi’s CBD.
