Drought-hit Baringo county now imposes ‘toilet rationing’ in market places

Traders in Eldama Ravine market within the drought-hit Baringo have been directed by the county government to use toilets only once a week.

The county government took the unprecedented move following the current  drought that has led to water shortage in the area.

However, the traders have defied the directive demanding that the county government lifts the order, citing the risk of an outbreak of contagious diseases.

They further argued that the taxes they pay should guarantee them access to such social amenities and services the drought and water shortage notwithstanding.
