He is the undisputed king of comedy, and solely responsible for the rise of a majority of comedy heavy weights in Kenya.

His weekly comedy show, Churchill Show, rates as the best thing on Kenyan TV and has morphed into something of a comedy university where the best and the brightest are made.

Behind the scenes, an army of an cast and crew work tirelessly to put together one Africa’s biggest comedy showcase.

Nairobi News got exclusive access to the backstage and into Dan Ndambuki’s, aka Churchill’s private dressing room to show you how the king of comedy prepares for his show each week.

Nairobi news: Do you still have butterflies

Churchill: Yes I do, it’s very normal because each performance is different and the audience too. You only get one chance to make a first impression, it’s a new show each time so you got to give it your best.

The day you let down your guard, is the day you loose it. Never get used to your audience.

We thank God for giving us Grace to remain consistent and relevant each week. It’s not as easy as it may look. I have a very committed team behind the project, working so hard to make it look easy on the eye.

Nairobi News: What about the haters and the critics who say your quality has gone down.

Churchill: The show is a ministry. We laugh at our problems and heal in the process. We are glad for the support all through the years, we are building a heritage together and building an industry in the process as we touch lives.

Personally, I don’t see hater’s, I see people who want to see the best of us. The show needs everyone,we can’t do it on our own. It’s a Kenyan product.

Here then is exclusive footage of Churchill just moments before he hits the stage.
