A form three student from Muhoho High School who was suspended last week for stealing loaf of bread will be re-admitted back to school without any condition.

The boy allegedly stole a bread from the school’s dining hall and was later sent home by the school’s deputy principal.

The school is located in Gatundu South, Kiabu county.

Kiambu County Director for Education Ali Abdikadir directed the school to re-admit the student and to follow proper disciplinary measures.

“The institution can take appropriate action against the student but he will not have to pay outstanding fees or buy loaves for other students,” said Abdikadir.

He added that the school should try counselling and guidance for the student to shun the wrong behaviour for his own good.

According to the student’s suspension letter, which had many Kenyans questioning the stiff penalty, the student was supposed to buy a 1,000 loaves of bread.

The letter that went viral on social media attracted mixed reactions, with some condemning the school’s administration for the hefty punishment.
