Blogger Alai visits State House and Facebook cannot be contained


A picture of controversial blogger Robert Alai in the company of President Uhuru Kenyatta is causing a buzz on social media.

The photo that was taken during the State House Energy Summit shows the president giving a speech with an attentive Alai listening pensively while seated facing the audience.

Alai is by far one of the biggest critics of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Government, and so social media users have been wondering how he got himself to occupy such a conspicuous position, let alone being invited to State House.

The blogger was one of the panelists when the president gave his speech when the at the ongoing summit on Wednesday morning at State House.

The summit brought together the Energy Cabinet Secretary, his Principal Secretaries, members of the public, stakeholders and heads of energy parastatals.

The aim of the Summit is to provide the administration and Kenya’s energy consumers with a clearer, more coherent picture of energy policy, and its consequences.

However, Kenyans on Facebook wanted to know why Alai was there, and whether his presence meant that he had crossed over to the other side.

“This is beautiful. Bring the harshest critics in so that they can give their viable options face to face. I hope he won’t be labeled a Mole!” Milla James wrote.

“Now that Robert Alai has seen the light all others should follow suit including mheshimiwa Raila, or else they will be left behind,” Francis Keitany said while Hiram Ole-ndichu wrote “This is what we need in this country… we should always be together… but our opinions can be different!”

“Very shocked to see him there… on his fb page n the way he post? Wonders never end,” Permys Permys wrote opined.
