The Presidential Strategic Communication Unit (PSCU) has been sucked into yet another online controversy after an embarrassing picture was posted in President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Twitter handle.
The PSCU were tweeting about the Mombasa International Show which the President is opening on Thursday.
The photo of an odd-shaped woman, which has been doing the rounds on social media, was posted with three other pictures under the caption:
“Interaction between farmers, Agri business and citizens is commendable. About to open the Mombasa International Show.”
In one of the three pictures, a little girl is seen handing flowers to the President, while in another picture the president is signing the visitor’s book. The last picture shows the military band playing.
This is the latest of the numerous goofs that the PSCU has made news for recently. On Wednesday the President posted a tweet congratulating Vivian Cheruiyot for winning a gold medal for Kenya in the 10,000m women’s marathon (sic) at the ongoing IAAF World Championships in China.
Whereas Cheruiyot actually won a gold medal in the women’s 10,000m, there is no such event as 10,000m marathon in athletics.
Both tweets have since been removed.
