16 year old stabbed to death as he tries to separate fighting neighbours


A well-intended gesture by a 16 year student turned tragic on Wednesday night after he was stabbed to death by his neighbours who were fighting.

The student is reported to have attempted to intervene in the fight between the two who were arguing over missing clothes in Mradi near Skyline estate in Embakasi.

The deceased, a form three student from Embakasi Garrison Secondary school, died on the spot after being stabbed on the left side of the chest by one of the two neighbours.

ATTACKED

In Ruai, a couple is nursing serious injuries following an attack by unknown assailants who broke into their house in Ruai Redgate on Thursday night.

According to police report, the attackers were armed with crude weapons which they used to inflict injuries on the couple.

The husband sustained deep cuts on the head and was also left with a swollen left eye while his wife suffered a cut on her right cheek near the ear. The two were rushed to Metropolitan Hospital where they are admitted.

Two suspects, including a 21 year old man who was found hiding in a nearby napier grass field and a caretaker in the neighbourhood, were arrested in connection with the incident.

The first suspect was found in possession of a kitchen knife and a half smoked roll of bhang while a blood-stained metallic mallet was recovered from the caretaker’s house.

SHOT DEAD

In another incident, police shot and killed two suspected gangsters following a botched robbery at a petrol station along Kangundo road on Wednesday night.

According to police report, a shootout ensued between the gangsters, who were four in total, and police officers on patrol leading to the death of the two.

One revolver loaded with three rounds of ammunition and one mobile phone were recovered from the slain gangsters.

In Ongata Rongai, a 34 year old civilian, who is a licensed firearm holder, was on Thursday admitted to hospital after accidentally shooting himself.

Ronnie Lemaiyan Teruru, told police officers that he was performing safety precaution on his semi-automatic mini Ceska pistol which was loaded with 12 rounds of ammunition in his house, when he accidentally shot himself.

He was rushed to Nairobi Women Hospital where he was admitted in fair condition. Police are investigating the incident.
