Kenyan rapper Octopizzo will become the first Kenyan Hip Hop artist to attend the Grammy Awards in the United States slated for Sunday, January 28.
The Namba Nane hit maker (real name Henry Ohanga) could not hide his joy after he was invited to the 60th Grammy Awards.
Octopizzo posted his invitations on Instagram and captioned it, “Collect your Past, put it in a box, wrap it up with a gift wrapper and make it your present. Ghetto Youths we on the right direction.”
He also had one wish that both his parents were around so that they could accompany him to the Grammy’s.
The Ministry of Sports and Heritage also congratulated the rapper on his achievement.
This year’s edition of the Grammy’s will be returning to New York with a special tribute to Broadway after 15 years in Los Angeles with James Corden making reappearance as the host.
Some of the top nominees this year include Jay Z, Kendrick Lamar and Bruno Mars.
